Big ups to our ex-Dean & Franklin crew Mr. Cracktacular, Moody Majical and Stevie Weavie for allowing FMLY to PRSNT their eviction party. We brought the Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Manhattan masses DJ sets by Mr. Cracktacular, DJ Tanner aka Your Majesty, Ryder Ripps, the recently blogged about ECK$ and a stunning beat-set by our boy cloud.. The dance with grind, shake and pop, the smell was green, and the cops were absent – all in all it may have been on of the most epic parties I’ve ever been to…and I never even left the basement! As you’ve probably noticed, we’re BIG fans of the 8bit music scene and something like an 8bit hip-hop mixtape featuring everyone from T.I. to Lil’ Jon certainly isn’t going to escape the reach of this blog. As warning, let me preface this by saying that before you press play it’s mandatory to remove all articles of clothing because these beats will not stop at blowing the socks off of you. I just stumbled across two music videos from my favorite tight pants wearing group Ninjasonik. The first video is for Art School Girls. Keep your eyes open for a music video release party with Your Majesty who has prepared a 30 minute art school girl remix.
This next video for Tight Pants (Rap Remix) includes Asian ballerinas, libraries, tight pants (of course), and keep your eyes peeled for a special appearance by MC Hammer.
Hey guys, we’ve been hard at work preparing FMLY’s NY debut during CMJ week and here it is! Not too shabby, eh? Tickets are $5 and are only available the day of so it’s first come first serve. We have some more surprises when you get there, so come ready, leave happy and tell your friends. This will be the party to end all parties.
I seriously hate writing about myself in the third person so I’m not doing it anymore, the jig is up! I’m not a big fan of promoting my own music, it feels pretty lame, but if I don’t do it it’s not like anyone else will. Yesterday morning I, Your Majesty, finished up a new track that I hope everyone will enjoy. In the context of my live performance I love the track, but it’s hard for me to look at it as a stand-alone; don’t be afraid to share your thoughts and constructive criticisms. Thanks to Jeansbjorn for your deck skills and Elliott aka Space in Warwick, NY for the lyrical inspiration. Also, thank your sister Ricky for me. More music will be released soon as I’m wrapping up work on the I Need To Speak To Mary-Kate tape. Also stay tuned for information regarding upcoming shows.
FMLY hasn’t had a Flashback! Party Sequence in a couple of weeks, so this one is extra special!
I’ve been sitting on this track for a while, just enjoying it and all. If you’re a fan of Marvin Gay and a fan of Hot Chip then you’re in for some HOTHOTHOT sexual healing tonight. As I’m sure you’ve heard some, Hot Chip has released an arsenal of covers over their career; one of which happens to be Snoop Dogg’s “Sensual Seduction.” So enjoy, give her her’s before you get yours!
Also in the news is something that you may never see again…I like something that Justice has put out. Justice’s newly released video for “Stress” is quite a disturbing one, but in a 70’s Warriors type of way that you can’t help but enjoy. Innocent victims are stomped out, old ladies get their purses stolen, police officers are brutally attacked and everything gets absolutely trashed once it gets in the way of these teens donning their Cross jackets. Bravo Justice, check and mate.
Also, if you’re in NYC tonight, I’ll be DJ’ing a free beer party on 6th Street between B and C in the L.E.S. You’ll hear the music – admission is $10. Good luck on finals.
