If you missed the Exes live set on FMLY’s Public Education last week, no worries, we’ve got a track from Robert to premiere for ya’ll. With My Dolls’ Jamie Leffler, Robert subtly trades his DJDT flipped-brim cap for an electro-acoustic pop crown. Dropping beats like seeds in an apple orchard (ha!) while Jamie reminds us why she’s not just a doll but the Doll, the Exes are making some straight up home-brewed anthems that just can’t be listened to without singing along. I will never use this word to describe anything again, but these Exes’ tunes are such bangers; my head is in a constant state of bobbing. Head to their MySpace page for another new track, “Honest Man.”
The Exes – See My Eyes
BNS
The Exes – Believe Me
The Exes – Kall Nichta
The Exes – Transition
DJDT – Walking On A Dream Team (Empire of the Sun remix)
I Just Shot My Sister And I’m Still Stabbing Her – Astro Burger
Yes Means No – Lamar Odom Will Have His Revenge
DJDT made a video for that hot New Boyz track. So many versions out there I couldn’t tell you if this is a remix or the original, but the beat knows what’s up more than Soulja Boy ever did. Plus Robert, Charlie, and Noah Diamond crank out some moves not to be reckoned with – special guests at the end.
DJDT has a new mixtape out for June, hit up the MySpace blog to find the download link.
DJDT – Willy Whompa (feat Adam Haber)
Lil’ Wayne – A Milli (DJDT RMX)
And here are some other sounds from Robert’s projects, past and present.
I Just Shot My Sister And I’m Still Stabbing Her – Astro Burger (highly recommended)
Yes Means No – Lamar Odom Will Have His Revenge
The Exes – Kall Nichta
and for all you Kutting Room folk, here’s a flashback circa 2005.
Yes Means No – 3 Days Truckin’
and if you want to get all professional, then i guess 99% of these tracks are premiering to the blogodome through this post. in other words, download these tunes while you’re here because they’re sweet little gems that you may not come across again.
With Halloween a little over a week away, I’ve decided it’s time to carefully consider my options of what to do on Halloween. There are a lot of tantalizing options. Here’s what I’m considering:

First of all FMLY favs Rumspringa are playing a Helluva show. Halloween Downtown starts at 8 and goes till I can’t dance anymore. Also I get $10 off just for dressing up on Halloween and it would give me a good reason to check out BOXeight.

Little Radio is having a truly ghoulish night where Autolux among others will be playing. There is also a haunted house (?!) and a costume contest. Knowing Little Radio, there will be plenty of surprises as well.

The bands that inspired the start of FMLY will be playing as some of their favorite bands featuring Nephews as Jimmy Eats World, and members of Yes Means No, Dracula Mountain and Bro Nameth.
With such great options, I’m just not sure what to do.

If I had to choose a favorite local musician, Robert Cepeda would make my top three without a second thought. I have to say that it is not only outstanding but also an honor for FMLY to host this renaissance musician in his very first DJDT (Dream Team) performance. Most of you know the Robster from his guitar and lyrical work in Yes Means No, some of you have seen him play with The Histories, and a fewer amount of you have probably collected and obsessed over the I Just Shot My Sister And I’m Still Stabbing Her tracks as if they were rare Arcade Fire recordings (pre-bloghaus). I’m glad to say that there is a new dawn for Robert, and that is DJDT. Please stick around Saturday night for his performance after Koalacaust, it’s not one to miss.
