Do Make Say Think – Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!

moore on war

The history classes of the twenty-second century, assuming that we can be bothered to hold one, will hate us for doing everything twice and messing up their grades. “So which Bush was Gulf War II again? Was that the wimp or the chimp?”

Alan Moore’s 2006 history lesson/rant Arthur Magazine) reads like action-packed technicolor comic book meets Sean Penn meets VICE. It could use an update, but if you’re feeling frustrated about our current circumstances this essay just might hit the spot… or make you explode.

Psapp – Calm Down

obama wins the nobel peace price. peace tba

Whenever I think that I should just give up on Obama making real change, something like this happens. Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize this morning. Maybe America will finally notice the multiple genocides around the world. Maybe Obama will realize that sending troops in to bomb infrastructure in third world countries, as is what has happened with so many presidents before, is not a way to spread democracy. Sending more troops into Afghanistan will only create more problems. Now since he won the peace prize, maybe he’ll consider pulling those troops out and send in aid organizations like the peace corps to help we as a global village realize that America can be a friend. We have a long way to go and this has been acknowledged. Let’s hope he’s more than just a good speaker.
