Pat Vamos has the midas touch and it’s very much appreciated when it ripples on over to our side of the pond. Taking Swimming In Speakers‘ adorably crafted “Serve Them Well” and pairing their sweet tooth for pop aesthetic with some lip-smacking “Apocalyptic inline skating fun in the tradition of Solarbabies, Prayer of the Rollerboys and those fucking scary things in Return to Oz,” aka rad shit that was probably in a public domain archive, we finally have the chance to experience one of our favorite bands in a whole new sense. So excited about this video, FMLY x SiS = BFFs4lyf3! Swimming In Speakers play their first show ever on September 26 at the Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn with Pet Ghost Project (flyer here)!

Lay in a field, stare at the stars, go blind, and Swimming in Speakers will help find your vision. The darling electronic-acoustic duo of Chris Clarke and Meadow Eliz flawlessly weave catchy electronic hooks, seductive vocal melodies and subtle guitar ballads into their humble pop which suits perfectly for the regular summer mixtape and boombox love scene. Today, Friday, at 3pm EST (noon on the West Coast) Swimming In Speakers will play their first live set on the radio! Feel free to tune in right here while you get mentally pumped for FMLY PRSNTS: BWR TH NVSN with Anamanaguchi, TRS-80, NEON NAVAJO and Professor Calculus. Oh, and here’s a new SiP tune for ya!

When you’re super into someone, it’s always nice when they’re super into you back. This is the case with FMLY and upstate NY’s Swimming in Speakers and I’ve deemed it time for us to take our relationship to the next level. I’m tired of this teasing; we play you on Public Education, you leave us adorable comments. Lets just get past these shy encounters and go public!

The darling electronic-acoustic duo of Chris Clarke and Meadow Eliz flawlessly weave catchy electronic hooks, seductive vocal melodies and subtle guitar ballads into their humble pop which suits perfectly for the regular summer mixtape and boombox love scene. It’s difficult to describe the variety of sound that SiS present, with a track like “In Knowing” which boasts repetition and is heavy on the behind the scenes work an entirely different band is displayed than on “Icarus,” an absolutely gorgeous tune placing emphasis on Meadow’s dreamy and timeless voice. Also, to give credit where credit is due the nuance of cello is provided by Jo Sorrell and percussion and guitar work by Justin Grizzoffi. It took one listen for us to want to swim in speakers ourselves so grab a hand, some tunes, and we’ll pull you right in here with us. And don’t forget to tweet ‘em!

the last 38 seconds of “icarus” may just be the best ending ever, well maybe not better than that ya boy tune…

Ya Boy – No Replacement (Beyonce Diss) (definitely one of my favorite tracks ever)

Just watched the season finale to Lost and was put in one of those introspective moods where all you want are heavy sheets filled with phat electronic pulses led by an enchanting female voice. Shared desires also happen upon waking up, going to sleep, and many other points throughout the day. Fortunately, there are iTunes’ full of great tunes specifically for this twilight of states so for those of you in the same boat (different river) here are a few awesome jams to pump up.

Lismore – 1979 (Smashing Pumpkins cover)
The Postal Service – Nothing Better (Styrofoam remix)
and from one of my new favorite bands…

It’d be euphoric to hear a girl take on a Why? tune, but until then I’m more than happy with the Vivian Girls’ cover of Wavves’ “So Bored.” Video after the jump.
