Street Scene was everything I ever wanted in a women and more. She was a well put together, classy, yet a bit messy and bitchy at times. She danced, she smoked, she relaxed, and she was fucking HOT. There’s nothing that I could want that she didn’t give me (besides maybe road head), yet at the same time I was let down in the most measurable way I think it turned me off of her; the epitome of blue-balls.
Friday was PERFECT. I couldn’t have asked for a better day. It started off hot as hell with some world tunes from Extra Golden. Then came the killing of some time wondering about the wide arrange of different stages and vendors.
Just in case you wanted to know if you should attend the25th annual Street Scenenext weekend, I guarantee that it will be cooler than the couch-side table shown above. Set times after the jump! (I’m sorry for those underage who had to see that, but it seems like they’re so far beyond real it shouldn’t matter…)
So it doesn’t so much bother me that there’s two festivals on one weekend within 9 hours of each other, 3 and 6 from LA to SD and SF respectively, it’s the fact that… there’s two festivals the same weekend – how could these planners actually make a blunder this big. Attendance will suffer, regardless of lineups. And both these lineups carry a number of similarities:
~Black Eyed Peas/Thevery Corp/M.I.A/Modest Mouse/The Dead Weather/Silver Sun Pickups/Conor Oberst/Band of House/Mastodon/Calexico/Deerhunter/Matt&Kim/Extra Golden~
So I mean, I guess it’s economical and all, it just doesn’t make much sense to me. Don’t both these companies talk to each other, or at least know when each festival was being planned? Street Scene doesn’t even have a real headliner. How are the Black Eyed Peas the first on the list? Where Street Scene might catch those short on money and time, coming in at $132.50 for the two day pass, Outside Lands boasts the bigger sonic bulge (technically a-sexual), coming in with three days of music, yet costing around $250 for the ticket.
It’s your call… But I have a feeling Golden Gate Park will be easier to infiltrate. It’s hard to be camouflage in the concrete paradise of East Village SD…
And we can’t forget the Sunset Junction Fest, only a weekend before both these behemoths go down.
Outside Lands has Q-tip, which I guess means I can post a Q-tip song?
