I know it’s late but thank you to everyone who tuned in this past week to Public Education. We are on every Sunday from 6-8pm PST playing all new music for two hour on indie1031.com. If you want to send in your music to be played on the show, you can send it to 5700 Wilshire Blvd. suite 250 Indie 1031 c/o Public Education or you can email us some tunes at publiceducation@thefmly.com
Join us tonight on Public Education for a special live set from Philip Seymour Hoffman, a railcars record giveaway and lots of new music and silliness from 6-8pm PST. Click here to stream it live from indie1031.com.
FMLY’s Public Education with Cameron Rath and Danny Sway is on in twenty minutes, from 6-8pm PST, on the new Indie 103.1 – stream the show right here! For the next twenty mins, just feel free to peep the vid above over and over and over again.
Thanks to everyone that listened and tuned in. The ‘best of’ show was a lot of fun. Thank you especially to those that told us their favorite music of 2009. Send me your favorite music of 2009 at publiceducation@thefmly.com and we’ll play it on next weeks show!
So without further ado, the play list for the ‘best of 2009′ show.
Thanks for everyone who tuned in this week to Public Education. We had a heck of a time with Moses Campbell busting out the live jams. Check out the playlist and grab some!
You might remember our Friends Pizza! from this week’s Public Education playlist as well as Beach Dazed and the Museum of Neon Art show a while back (memory refresher here). Well the boys have just joined Manimal Vinyl’s already awesome roster for the release of their second EP in 2010. On October 5th Manimal will be releasing a digital only compilation of Pizza!’s best stuff. “The release will include fifteen remastered favorites, representing all of our official releases and including a couple of other goodies.” In preparation for this new life for Pizza! They must remove their free discography from their site on Monday, September 21. This leaves us all with one more week to grab all those years of music for free.
To really welcome Pizza! to the Manimal crew, they were added to Manimal Festival in Pioneer Town, which I was already wetting myself over, joining Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Rainbow^Arabia, Fool’s Gold, Juliette Commagere and many others. I can’t think of any better way to spend $30 and a weekend than in the desert in an old movie set listening to some of the best music LA has to offer.
We busted all over another two hours of new music. Keep sending stuff in! We had enough music sent in this past week to fill half the show but we will continue to listen to every shred of music you send. You can send physical CD’s to
Public Education
5700 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 200

or email us some mp3’s to publiceducation@thefmly.com and then listen in on Sundays from 6-8 pm pacific time because we’ll be playin’ it.
You check out the playlist after the jump with a ton of downloads from the show. Enjoy!
Tune into Public Education this evening not only for a refreshing playlist of tunes we love to rock in headphones, but we’ll be joined by a live session from REALLY, very. Luis, Crystal and Danielle opened Beach Dazed last month with their Octopus Proj-esque tunes and we’re pretty pumped to catch them in a more intimate environment…an 8×10 room! Public Education is on every Sunday from 6-8pm (west coast time). Stream it online worldwide right here. So stoked to listen, these are some of my favorite LA jams.
As usual, far too much semi-illegal fun was had yesterday within the walls of the Indie studios. For the uninformed, I host a weekly radio show with Danny Sway called Public Education on indie1031.com. We keep it fresh but not entirely unheard. Join us every Sunday from 6-8 pm. Check out yesterday’s playlist and download a portion after the jump.
