Fan made video for TheDeathSet’s take on Deadelus’ “Fair Weather Friends.” One of the sweetest live jams! Oh, and a really tight video – like if Octopus Project animated for Adult Swim.

crazy aunt dracula

New trippy video from Philly’s Aunt Dracula for the catchy as hell tune “Mongo” (yeah, i know the video says mango) that recalls the sporadic thoughts and moments of youth…but on the other hand isn’t that Aunt Dracula in a nutshell? It’s like accidentally leaving your phone in your pants pocket when doing the laundry, you’re constantly trying to look past the foam to see if you’re safe for the time being. But in this case you still have your phone…so you can call your friends…and tell them about this cool video. Wow. Epic fail on my part, I’m sorry Aunt Dracula. Just enjoy the video. But I’d enjoy either (a) seeing these dudes on paw tracks or (b) seeing them cover feels.

warm cycle

Props to Karla Santos for a super comforting visual complement to the gorgeous and ethereal Big Spider’s Back tune, “Warped,” that you might want to take your laptop under the covers for. “Warped” is the title track from Yair’s debut EP which drops today, available now at the way rad Circle Into Square.

Big Spider’s Back – Perfect Machine

If anyone happens to be going to Seattle or live in Seattle or have friends in Seattle Big Spider’s Back is playing an uber-sweet show this Thursday at Dreamstation 64 with ALASKAS (performing Set Yourself Free), Cole and our pals Railcars. Flyer after the jump. If you live within driving distance (Vancouver through San Francisco) I expect to see pictures and Youtube vids of you raging. And if anyone can direct me to a place where I could listen to Cole that would be much appreciated thanks Sam, Cole is cozy. If you haven’t taken advantage of the free download of Railcars’ debut EP Cities vs Submarines now’s your chance.

VERSUS

a clearer mind

Pat Vamos has the midas touch and it’s very much appreciated when it ripples on over to our side of the pond. Taking Swimming In Speakers‘ adorably crafted “Serve Them Well” and pairing their sweet tooth for pop aesthetic with some lip-smacking “Apocalyptic inline skating fun in the tradition of Solarbabies, Prayer of the Rollerboys and those fucking scary things in Return to Oz,” aka rad shit that was probably in a public domain archive, we finally have the chance to experience one of our favorite bands in a whole new sense. So excited about this video, FMLY x SiS = BFFs4lyf3! Swimming In Speakers play their first show ever on September 26 at the Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn with Pet Ghost Project (flyer here)!

And a Vimeo video bonus…part two of the Why? promo featuring that chick from Epic Movie and that dude from It’s Always Sunny In Philidelphia! Hit it up after the jump.

dig your week

Yeah, we love Why?, yeah, we love Black Moth Super Rainbow, and yeah, we love Broken Social Scene. The only thing that would really make this week a bit more rad is if Animal Collective released a new live tune or remix. Black Moth Super Rainbow have exposed their Grindhouse vid for “Twin Of Myself.” If you caught the group live (or will be in the near future) then you’ll recognize the latter half from their projected visuals. Peep that bloody mess above. Remember when we interviewed Tobacco?

P4k is all over Yoni’s crotch, and I don’t know how I feel about it. I guess they’re building him up to be one of the great voices of our generation and I think the entire act is a bit conceited on their part. That’s not going to stop us from loving to fuck out of Why?, cLOUDDEAD, or Hymie’s Basement and it’s certainly not going to keep us from posting this gorgeous new Why? track, “This Blackest Purse.” More melodies, crooning and mustache fetishism, less getting pussy from disinterested bitches. I’m calling Eskimo Snow as album of the year right now…it’d certainly be appropriate as Alopecia was our number one from ‘08. Also, be careful when googling images for Yoni Wolf as the world’s ugliest vaginas can and will appear in ways you’d never want to see them. Remember when we interviewed Why??

In other news, the Broken Social Scene we know, love and miss with Emily (Metric), Leslie (Feist), Amy (Stars), Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning and the rest of the gang reunited in Toronto on Saturday. Here are Youtube videos for you to kill the rest of your day with. Welcome back homies. Saturday’s live video of “Almost Crimes” after the jump.

these are powers’ “easy answers”

Incredibly rad video was just released for These Are PowersAll Aboard Future clap-a-long jam, “Easy Answers.” Directed by Jacqueline Caste, the inspiration is noted to have come from “the annual Ghost Festival held every August in China and the Chinese folkloric tradition of burning joss paper after the death of a relative or loved one.” As per usual you can peep it above, download below. And make sure to catch TAP live sometime, it’s a great show…unless they’re playing at the Shank in Brooklyn and the power goes out three time by the second song. These Are Powerless, am I right? Nah, it was still tight.

kind of unsettling until their heads start exploding

As if Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks” wasn’t already one of our favorite tunes, Patrick Daughters had to go and create a spectacular music video to up the ante. Watch the “sparkleexplodingheadsofweirdness” above.

Peep Grizzly Bear’s MySpace page for Veckatimest streaming in its entirety, and can anyone confirm if this vid was shot in the Grizzly Bear church? Also, hit up Grizzly Bear’s Black Cab session here.

fireweed

Juno Award nominee, Polaris Prize recipient, and bearer of the honor of opening for James Brown, Patrick Watson, has just released his self-directed video for “Fireweed.” The expression of vulnerability serves this prelude to The Giving Tree well, definitely worth the watch. A few interesting notes on Patrick Watson for those new to the tunes is that Patrick Watson is a band as well as the man fronting it, he has toured with Amon Tobin, uses various items to make different sounds such as playing a bicycle, and his latest album Wooden Arms was released on April 28 earning a 9/10 from NME and a 3.3 / 10 from P4k. Check out the band playing a Los Angeles pinata shop here.

i’m in miami, bitch

We’ve got an update since the last time I blogged on LA’s soon-to-be-pop-stars LMFAO…and it’s a video! I’d call it NSIN (not safe in public), so watch it in the privacy of your own home unless you’re shameless and get off on watching a guy drum on a woman’s ass in a library – not like there’s anything weird about that. Enjoy the video.
