this is how we trip

Psychedelics can be a touchy subject for some so I won’t carry on with this, but considering the weather and how energizing this summer was (it’s fall now, i think) it’s pretty tough to currently reject the idea of taking a brief nutrition from reality. In honor of our last playlist which was a compilation of weed summer jamz I have a ‘working your way towards psychedelics’ mix for ya called this is how we trip. No confusion, this is not intended to be a playlist to listen to while you trip as it’s way too self-aware but in the most appropriate manner I hope that it serves to get you in the mood. When you do get there, just make sure to have some vinyl or albums that you love to listen to all the way through prepped for action.

Safe and happy travels…

Shy Children Make Great Lovers

Alright, so Shy Child is my electronic car music jamz while I’m home in Los Angeles and driving around at night. Whenever my peeps hop in the car they’re all like, “Man, what is that fresh sound that i hear!? I need this music to breath!” Alright, so maybe they’re not that dramatic, but in an indie kid fashion they acknowledge the sound and inquire about burning the CD to put on a mixtape to convert to a vinyl to originally press for their world-class collection. Okay, so they’re not that dramatic either, but you should just listen to Shy Child so you get the idea. New album, Noise Won’t Stop out May 5 on Kill Rock Stars!

Hillary’s Old Indie-Rock Band…

This is the funniest ad I think that I have ever seen. There is no message, not even a Hillary, but it’s brilliant. However, I’m all for Obama and I think I’m gonna tell him to step up his ad campaign.

There was a couple of great pictures on BrooklynVegan a while back but I can’t find them, next time.
