Credited with being in the second wave of post-rock and the band that gave Montreal a music scene, Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s Efrim Menuck has revealed in a to-be-released Drowned In Sound interview that “on a personal level, I now find [Godspeed You! Black Emperor] to be inappropriate.” Other reasons cited included inter-band tension and the Iraq War. Although the band has been on hiatus since 2003 I always believed that another album would come one day…no more. Goodnight GY!BE.
