a single payer system

This has been going on for too long. We can’t just stand by while these payed off elected officials make decisions about our health care. The republicans say there is no problem. Of course they don’t see a problem. They have a great government based health care plan as do all of our elected officials. These are people who don’t understand what uninsured means. Even the democrats, who are supposed to be progressive can barely keep the public option on the table. My question to them is why did we start with the public option plan? Even Obama’s plan still leaves 15 million uninsured. How long do we let private interests control our lives? Why would anyone want to make a profit off of others misfortunes? This isn’t a left or right issue. This is an issue of survival and basic human consciousness. A government is supposed to take care of it’s people. Period.

I have experienced first hand that when you need the insurance, they are not there for you. They are there to take your money and make a profit and that’s it. When there are terms like preexisting conditions, our best interest isn’t being looked after. Our politicians are in bed with the insurance companies and those who aren’t are pussies. It’s time that we stand up and fight.

Everybody deserves healthcare. That should be a right, not a privilege.

Even Bill O’Rielly believes eveyone deserves healthcare.

It’s time that we mobilize. The biggest hurdle is ignorance. Talk to your friends and family about this issue. Let your Representatives know that a public option isn’t good enough. We don’t need a middle man to act like the mob and tell us if we are going to live or die. We must send a message: Our well being is not a harvest field for profiteering. We are real people. This is our life.

A war against ignorance

Take a minute out of your day to call your representative. The people need to stand up for themselves now. Tell them I will not support you if you don’t support the people. No one is going to fight this war for us.

Here is a list of senators offices.

“Zero” To Video, Ghostface vs Beirut

Leave it to Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O to tell a story through visuals. The art rockers teamed with director and fellow New Yorker Barney Clay for the video for band’s new single, ‘Zero,’ off their March 10-due album, It’s Blitz! The concept? The world is your stage, metaphorically speaking. “The visuals had to be well paced with the slow ecstatic build of the song,” Karen O tells Spinner. “It made sense that the visuals would take you on a journey and keep you on the move — no sitting still for too long in the city landscape of bright lights, dark alleys and glittering streets. ‘Zero’’s sentiment is to revel in being you — you’re a zero so screw it! It’s the underdogs, the rebels, the outsiders that have always captivated me growing up so I decided why not flaunt that side of myself in the video.”

As for Karen O’s favorite video of all time? “It’s a tie between Chris Cunningham’s ‘All is Full of Love,’ for Bjork, and ‘Thriller!’” Here, here. [via spinner.com]

New Raekwon

[my hero]

Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II was hailed as the “#6 most anticipated album of 2007″ by XXL Magazine…and the for past two years it has been the mystery record on Wu fan’s minds. A radio rip of the then unknown “Wu Ooh” surfaced over the weekend and thanks to modern technology we now have CD quality evidence of this album in it’s 200% form as Raekwon promised, “People been wanting this record for the last 10 years, so I gotta make sure that this shit is bulletproof.”

Concept
Similar to the first Cuban Linx album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II will be set up in cinematic fashion, tying each song together in a sort of storyline, and each rapper playing an implied ‘persona’ of sorts; for instance, Raekwon is the main protagonist, with GZA and Inspectah Deck playing ’supporting roles’ throughout. Other guests will also take Gambino personas as well. In a Scratch Magazine article, it was confirmed that the RZA produced several tracks titled, “Thug World”, “Rock Stars & Smoking Barrels”, “State Of Grace”, “Kareem Khan”, and “No Matter How Hard You Try.” “Thug World” and “No Matter How Hard You Try” were later reworked and appeared on the 8 Diagrams and Digi Snacks albums being renamed as “Unpredictable” & “You Can’t Stop Me Now”. Wu-Tang’s DJ Allah Mathematics confirmed on his Myspace he will have song called “Mean Streets” featuring GZA & Inspectah Deck on the album. [via]

Apparently Travis Barker makes an appearance as well.

Ghostface Killah

These have been floating around for a couple of weeks, but just in case you didn’t pick them up anywhere else here they are. From time to time on FMLY you hear from a character known as the ‘indie kid.’ This character doesn’t really care too much about great detail but you think he is cool, even though he’s actually a bit depressing, so you’ll listen to whatever he says. Lets hear what indie kid has to say about this.

indie kid: Charlie Brown is a really tight Ghostface song from the album More Fish. It went under the remix treatment several times and now we have this sweet cover art and remix tape. I like Ghostface, he doesn’t fuck with Daft Punk.

Enjoy!
