It’s always a pleasure to put a new DJDT tune on blast ’round these parts, but two!? Oh man, what’s a kid to do…

Dropping tunes as hot as KE$HA, Jamie and Robert have without doubt produced some kind of underground electropop hit. It’s like something you’d hear repeatedly on your local radio station, but in your friend’s garage or basement! After Jamie gets out all of the catchiest hooks you can fit into a standard pop song, Fitted Kid chimes in with the auto-tuned point of view, all complemented by Robert’s mastermind for dynamics and taste. Shit is nuts and production is on it! Peep more tunes on the Exes‘ page, make it a guilty pleasure.

This weekend in LA is FMLY filled. Of course we have the FMLY RIDE on Saturday with a westside ride meeting the eastside ride and the new edition of FMLY RIDE Santa Cruz happening simultaneously. The theme for this ride is Cowboys (Eastside) and Indians (Westside). You can find all of the info for that here. The day before we will be creating a ruckus at the Standard Hotel in Hollywood as we team up with our pals at Dubfrequency to bring you a wild night of animal carnage. FMLY veteran DJDT will be bumping that sexy style he roles deep in and Riplee, one of the founding members of FMLY will be making his return. If you were at my birthday party earlier this year at McWorld, you saw him and DJ ALASKA, who will also be bringing the party, killing it all night long. Come dressed as your favorite animal. Word has it that the safari ride will be ending here to so prepare yourselves Hollywood! We are going to take you and we aren’t going to be merciful. It’s free to get in if you RSVP here so why wouldn’t you come!

it’s the fmly ride, partner

Our monthly bike ride is back March 6th, bigger, better and more F.U.N. than ever. This month we will be having two meet ups. If you live on the Eastside of LA, you can meet at the corner of Spring and Cesar Chavez Downtown and if you live on the Westside you can meet at Cloverfield Park in Santa Monica. Both rides will be seeing some awesome bands while exploring different sides of the city before meeting up in the middle for far too much fun.

This month we are playing cowboys and indians so Eastsiders, put on your 10 gallon hat and finest boots; Westsiders, get your war paint on and the bows and arrows out of storage. There will be babyhead spoke cards as always. If you are a new rider, don’t be nervous, we’ll take it nice and slow. If you don’t have a bike, bring your skateboard, rollerblades, unicycle or whatever other self sustaining mode of transportation you have. Everyone is welcome!

It’s time for the FMLY to come together.

We’re nearing the end of the aughts and to put Thanksgiving to shame we’d love to embrace all of the kind folks, awesome jams and unique experiences we’ve shared together. We’d like to throw a real FMLY festival coming from the heart. If you have a zine, graphic design firm, tutoring biz, circuit bending club, bike co-op, vegan bakery, or just a love for all things respectful and communal then hit us back. If you have a band, art form, musical endeavor, journal, film, new sex position, installation that you’d like to share, we want it.

On December 27 and 28 at the new chill spot, 5011, FMLY wants to combine minds with everyone we’ve jammed with over time and toss as many new names into the mix as we can. Together, let’s write the last pages of this decade’s influence on us. Fuck yeah!

The DANCEiSM Dance Party is back this Friday night at the Echoplex with Villians, Robot Love, Ben Oprstu, Scorpion Breath, and our homie DJDT! Combining the best of the DANCEiSMs and dance parties, Friday is not a rave but the experience of that primal fascination of bodily experimentation and friendly spectacle. Offering a supportive space to nurture the up-and-coming electronic acts of the Los Angeles area and abroad, Ben Oprstu really has something special going on that I always hear folks raveing about – hopefully I’ll be able to hit up LA with better timing and check it out for myself one day. Expect body paint, awesome visuals, glow-in-the-dark bubbles, sweat, loud music, and great times, Ben really says it all, “We’re about bringing together people of all ages, creeds, colors, and backgrounds. As of January 5 we’re hitting the road with our sleeping bags, skateboards, bikes, tents and FMLY FRNDS to spread the good word on this lil’ cult that we’re all a part of and we hope that you can join us along the way. Here are the dates and please get in contact if you can help out in any way whether it be letting us crash on your floor, take a shower, food recommendations, setting up a house show, making a flyer, spreading the word, etc… all dates after the jump.

I try the best that I can to space out these DJDT posts, but sometimes I just get too excited and need to unleash one. A bit ago, Robert refixed the Benny Benassi remix of Fatboy Slim’s “Praise You” and hot damn it’s the fucking jam. As a 90s youth “Praise You” was a childhood headbanger and well, this DJDT edit kinda just bangs the shit out of it. No more ’splainin to do, just grab 40z and RAGE. Thanks for the hardcore consistency Roberto.
