SXSW was a blast. The crowd was enthusiastic, the food was savory (thank you Pita Pit), and discovering new music in a live setting is definitely preferred over a computer screen. I’d just like to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to come out, we never expected to reach capacity so quickly! Also, an equal in size thank you goes out to Sneak Attack Media, Tierra Productions, UV Vodka and Hi-Lo for sponsoring the event as well as Honey Claws, Ninjasonik, TheDeathSet, The Hood Internet, DD/MM/YYYY, Fol Chen, Rumspringa, Cerebral Ballzy, The Hungry Villagers, Madi Diaz, and Reverse X Rays for playing. Big apologies to those of you who came out for Youth Group on Thursday, hopefully you were able to catch them at the Australian music showcase.
In an effort not to flood this page with photos, follow the link below the tunes to see some of the adventure.
Friday February 13th Spaceland will be graced with Don Caballero, sBach and FMLY friends DD/MM/YYYY for a night of face melting rock. If you haven’t heard these bands yet, don’t worry, I think they will be coming up plenty this year. I saw DD/MM/YYYY at the FMLY CMJ show and without hesitation bought all the vinyl they had to sell me. If you want to go to the Spaceland show this Friday just email me at cameron@thefmly.com.
Hey guys, we’ve been hard at work preparing FMLY’s NY debut during CMJ week and here it is! Not too shabby, eh? Tickets are $5 and are only available the day of so it’s first come first serve. We have some more surprises when you get there, so come ready, leave happy and tell your friends. This will be the party to end all parties.
Stranger things have happened on the FMLY blog, but just now as I was posting on DD/MM/YYYY’s show at the Cake Shop they left us a nifty little blog comment. Does DD/MM/YYYY read the FMLY blog? I guess so. Anyways, if you’re in NY then you can’t miss DD/MM/YYYY playing with Chandeliers at the Cake Shop tomorrow, but if you do then you can always catch them at Death By Audio on Monday.

A few weeks ago while browsing through the infinite library of unheard music on the internet, I came across a band that I instantly took a liking to which is pretty rare for me. Dd/mm/yyyy is a fast paced experimental progressive new wave band who bring a certain element of pop to a genre that you would not expect. From sonic keyboard riffs to out of control noise chaos, Dd/mm/yyyy has quickly become one of my favorite bands. If you’re a fan of Dan Deacon you should probably peep this.
