there’s nothing wrong with love

There’s a dangling gap between Emily’s voice, her hynotic keyboards, those glistening bells, and wherever our ears are supposed to be during these enchanting few minutes that makes the danger in this jam all the more appealing. Built To Spill has always deserved a massage this enticing. Catch Emily at Total Bummer fest with a bunch of our pals, jealous we can’t make it.

Dream Date – I Feel Like The Mother Of The World

jizz in my bit

I personally never caught on to the “Jizz In My Pants” phenomenon, so this is either way overdue or just much tighter…I’m going with the latter. Superpowerless has recently become an 8bit interest of mine, creating simple pop melodies that are fun to dance or just listen to and these videos of his are spot-on. This has definitely become one of my favorite things on Youtube, even beats the dog taking a shit on a baby.

did i leave your mind when i was gone

If there’s anything I like coming home to after a night of Ninjasonik, Totally Michael, Boogie Boarder, Team Robespierre, Anamanaguchi, and others it’s a fresh track with Erykah Badu, but color me a second wind if The Roots are on the tune! Just checked in with Questlove via Twitter and it turns out that Erykah hit up the studio before appearing on Fallon Friday night to lay down a cover of “I Wanna Be Where You Are” from MJ’s solo debut LP Got to Be There in 1972 . The perfect track to end your weekend on, enjoy.

superbad timing

The Michael Jackson homage was your idea. How old were you the first time that MJ touched you…musically?

Jonah Hill: I’ve been obsessed with Michael Jackson, even the Jackson 5, since I was six or seven. The whole sound, the vibe, everything.

As a celebrity, are you inspired by his ability to avoid prison with his fame, money and power?

Jonah Hill: [Laughs.] Hopefully, I’ll never do anything that would put me in a position to go to jail. Is this whole interview gonna be about Michael Jackson?

According to original N.W.A member Ice Cube, a Jew [Jerry Heller] broke up the crew.

Jonah Hill: Oh no!

As one of the many Jews in your crew, do you fear that one of you will fuck everything up?

Jonah Hill: If you’re going by that cycle, I feel like it would have to be someone who was not Jewish. Paul Rudd’s Jewish, Jason Segel’s Jewish, Seth’s Jewish, Judd’s Jewish, Danny McBride is half-Jewish, oddly enough. But Cera and [Bill] Hader? Maybe.

Last week Complex Magazine shipped out their June/July issue across the country featuring no less than Jonah Hill on the cover challenging Michael Jackson as the king of pop culture…and then more pictures throughout the rest of the article. A friend of mine brought it by my place last night and all I can say is that someone has definitely lost their job. Peep it here.

now head over to post-rockist to hear chuck klosterman’s (author of killing yourself to live among other outstanding credits) reaction to the events of yesterday.

Just watched the season finale to Lost and was put in one of those introspective moods where all you want are heavy sheets filled with phat electronic pulses led by an enchanting female voice. Shared desires also happen upon waking up, going to sleep, and many other points throughout the day. Fortunately, there are iTunes’ full of great tunes specifically for this twilight of states so for those of you in the same boat (different river) here are a few awesome jams to pump up.

Lismore – 1979 (Smashing Pumpkins cover)
The Postal Service – Nothing Better (Styrofoam remix)
and from one of my new favorite bands…
swimming in speakers – serve them well

It’d be euphoric to hear a girl take on a Why? tune, but until then I’m more than happy with the Vivian Girls’ cover of Wavves’ “So Bored.” Video after the jump.
