Glass Cake is Michelle Shofet, one of the many super rad musicians over at Berkeley in northern California. Her structures are simple on paper, but I dare any to challenge the way which these infectious harmonies built on top of melodies affect the ears of the heart. It’s rare to hear someone sound so beautiful and diverse singing with, well…themselves, but holy shit does Michelle make every note more and more intimate. “Friend Forever” and “Truly” are just like…I’m not even going to get into it.
