“heres a lil bit of ARTS yallz. i like to make trance songs as a joke, and sometimes they come out kinda serious. (gear: about %75 LSDJ and %25 lame software.)” -Ary
Ha, Ary (Anamanaguchi) made this sweet lil’ dance number and posted it to the web today via 8bitcollective. If you’re a proud owner of ‘guchi’s Dawn Metropolis, Ary composed “Mermaid” which is the final tune on the record. It’s rad to catch the similarities of the two pieces, but I’m really just trying to see another SWEET AMERICA show. Get in the zone, autozone?

Shave and a haircut, 8-bits!
If you haven’t realized it yet, we’re 8-bit connoisseurs! From Graffiti Monsters and Rainbow Jump Orchestra! to nordloef, Plamo and cow’p we like to wet our palette with many bits at once. For those who wish to dabble into the realm of 8-bit, I tend to stay within the boundaries of pop rather than appreciative stylistic electronics. However, these songs should offer you an awesome start! If you have any recommendations I would LOVE to hear them, feel free to comment or send me an email. The picture above is from an exhibit called “I Am 8-bit,” peep the gallery here.

As you’ve probably noticed, we’re BIG fans of the 8bit music scene and something like an 8bit hip-hop mixtape featuring everyone from T.I. to Lil’ Jon certainly isn’t going to escape the reach of this blog. As warning, let me preface this by saying that before you press play it’s mandatory to remove all articles of clothing because these beats will not stop at blowing the socks off of you. In case you haven’t listened to Power 106 or heard any mainstream hip-hop in the past good portion of a decade, there’s a track list after the jump.
