Its been a minute since we checked in with our boy Active Child, but last time we saw him was when he was rocking his second show ever at day two of fmly fest…literally bringing tears to the embrace of cheeks. Since then Pat Grossi has dropped a cassette, Sun Rooms on Mirror Universe Tapes, a 7″ single on Transparent, received remix work from the minds of Summer Camp and Pina Chulada, and on top of all of that we nominated him as one of three of the best emerging acts in Los Angeles in the Deli’s artists of ‘09 poll. Can you guess who our other two nominations went to? If it’s not obvious enough…Professor Calculus and Evan Voytas, because that’s how we roll! Let’s dish out some of these tunes, and redirect you to where you can cop the physicals.

-Vote for anyone in the Deli’s Artists of ‘09 poll, but we recommend that you vote for a FMLY submission. Again, FMLY nominations were Active Child, Professor Calculus, and Evan Voytas. And voting is one-click, I didn’t realize that and accidentally voted for the wrong band…ha. Do that here.
-You can purchase Pat’s 6-track debut, Sun Rooms, over at Mirror Universe for $5. Just click here.
-You can figure out how to purchase the Transparent released 7″ with “Voice Of An Old Friend” and “She Was A Vision” right here (free downloads too), but it won’t be available in the US (courtesy of Leftist Nautical Antiques) until February.

and here are those remixes!

One of my favorite blogs, Transparent, is releasing a 7″ for the Smith Westerns timeless and catchy sunkissed pop tunes “Be My Girl” and “Girl In Love.” Cop it here.

7″ for best coast

If you missed Best Coast at Beach Dazed, you missed out homie. Bethany and Bobb are a winning combo, and according to L.A. Record’s review of the show Bethany’s “sincere delivery and love letter lyrics make singing about heartbreak feel so good I wish somebody would dump me right now.”

Best Coast is releasing a self-titled 7″ (pictured above) featuring tunes we won’t stop bumpin’ “Sun Was High (So Was I),”"So Gone” and “That’s the Way Boys Are” on one of my favorite labels, the San Diego-based Art Fag.
