Two of my best friends in the world mailed me a handmade tape from across the continent and it has seriously added to my long term happiness. Posted it here on bandcamp for them. Now it is possible to share it with people without having to force them to listen to my walkman(although I’ll still definitely do that if I see you).

I am so damn psyched on this tape. Slyy is Jake and Miles from Boston, Mass. Somehow, they aren’t famous. I don’t get it. These guys have quietly amassed a mountain of pristine, groovy, expertly produced and just fucking awesome beats over the years. They instantly sound classic. Not because you’ve heard them before, but because they sound like something you should have heard. MJ MJ is lucky enough to be putting out Slyy’s first proper beat tape – SERIOUS SAUCE VOL 2! Oh, and Brian Vu (one of my new favorite artists and total guy, also runs wearerebels.com) made the artwork for the cassette so you know its gonna be crisp. I’ve spent the past couple months grooving deep on this tape, and I’m so excited to share it with everyone. Get some headphones (good ones), pack a bong and get down on these four free sly tracks!

Hey fam! I haven’t really been posting anything since I got to LA, but stuff is finally starting to calm down. Charlie and I found a place to live and I might get a job or something? I’m gonna try and get back in the bloggin game. MJ MJ is having a crazy summer, and we’re putting out some severely awesome records. I’ll try and keep ya’ll posted. Here’s a couple old new VD songs for you. I wanted to put em on a 7” called “MIss you”, but that never really happened. “I’ll Always Find You” is the first song that I ever actually sat down and wrote lyrics for. I’ve been nervous about sending it out cause it’s really personal and hard for me to listen to now, but I think it’s real good. Our buddies at No Fear of Pop asked for it, and our bb Jheri put it up too. I’m gonna put it up for free here, just for my FMLY. It’s not available anywhere else. You can get the MP3′s here.

ok. so i want this band to play my high school pool party in space. TELETHON are from florida. these sassy party animals came through wisconsin on tour last summer and blew the top off the whole damn town. one of the tightest, weirdest, most utterly enjoyable live bands i’ve had the pleasure of playing with. their new three song EP “FOREVER” is a cosmic one two pop punch straight to the groin. go get it fo free. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
our naked bros from chicago dropped their new album SHOULD BE today. this shit is so good. no one holds a groove like the nudey dudes. i’ve never enjoyed being blasted by the same chord progression for ten minutes in my hole life. i’m used to their live show, which is about half an hour long and consists of two, maybe three songs. the long, repetitive sludge translates perfectly onto the album. its astonishingly clean and listenable. i’m currently being blown away by the closing track, “Chill Pill”. this is by far the most out there NUDE SUNRISE track i’ve ever heard. do yourself a favor and download these jams and stay tuned, because they’ll be releasing two more songs (about half an hour of music) soon. and if you’re going to SXSW look up NUDE SUNRISE if you wanna get lost in a beer stained haze of guitar,fat ass synth, and sex drenched crooning. i’ve known pat (christmas’ guitarist/weirdo) since we were kids. we’d usually run around and spray paint dicks on traffic signs, smoke shitty weed and start eachother on fire. sometimes we played music. pat hasn’t changed much since then, except now he’s in the best rock and roll band in the country. christmas has it all – a sassy hot, rip-yr-dick-off front woman, a drummer that plays with the fervor of a horny 11 year old, and a smooth sailin, swingin dick bassist. not to mention the best fucking guitar player you could ask for. go download their single. buy their album, and see this band if you’re lucky enough to live in a town they’re touring though. no normies.
