womb lulls

Our Tiny Waves bff Ralph Giunta recently directed the humble b&w video for Hear Hums‘ “Growing”, off of their forthcoming album Opens. Treated to 16mm film the optic journey ‘opens’ in Orlando’s Dandelion Communitea Cafe surrounded by friends. As our eyes begin to adopt Ralph’s vision he witnesses a prescribed physical environment similar to most urban areas, and more specifically, a society that has embraced a notion of the installated organic in our material landscape. Providing the positive, his presentation of spending time with friends and good reads sweetly highlights enlightenment at once embedded in every experience. Though our homes are an unfortunate boundary and a city is more or less as routine as the last there is always the possibility to leave this all, to abandon the real and believe in the open. As “Growing” fades out of vision I’m left feeling that our physical environment needs to reflect common ideals… once again acknowledging that we were born into a condition that, with friends and embracing the ideas of others, must change. Oh yeah, and Hear Hums are radical too. Keep an ear out for their east coast tour in November.
