Recently, Shannon and I moved into our new residence at the Broom Factory in South Los Angeles. I love it here for so many reasons but the biggest is that people actually talk to you on the streets. How unusual for this city! On top of that, there is always something awesome happening in Liemert Park where it be Bananas at Kaos Network, the artwalk, a cultural festival, or just the drum circle. As a sort of celebration of our new settling, we had a dinner and a show with Candy Claws, Steffaloo, and Weed. What a pleasant night it was! For those who don’t know yet, the dinner and a show is a series we have started doing of hosting a private show capped at 30 people. Tickets are $10 which pays for entry and dinner. All the money is split with the bands afterwards and everyone gets to know everyone. Of course, for those that can’t afford $10, we offer 3 spots every show for free for our completely broke friends.
Our next dinner and a show is happening on September 15th with Oregon Bike Trails, Foxes in Fiction, Teen Porn, and Sneaky Snake at AnimalTown. This is a seriously amazing line up and I hope to see you there! Email andy@thefmly.com if you wanna get on the list.
