So Many Wizards has a new video, for “Best Friends.” The song can be found along with “Inner City” on the band’s most recent release, available via mail order from the Seven Inch Project.
Singer Nima Kazerouni gives some background:
“The song musically is very airy with pretty melodies. We wanted to make a video that embodied this feeling but also contrast it with something dark within the story. Our friend Elliot Glass, who directed and filmed the video, helped us come up with that perfect hybrid. It stars Ericka Clevenger and features our homeboy Ernesto Cordona as Death/a Dark Knight/the Grim Reaper. We filmed at my place, Erik’s place, MacArthur Park, Santa Monica Pier, in ‘Stories’ and ‘E.P.I.C’ on Sunset.
The meaning of the story is totally open for interpretation. Everyone’s lives and relationships are unique so i’m sure what each viewer takes from this video will be personalized accordingly.”
Nima will be performing by himself at La Tierra de la Culebra park in Northeast LA for FMLY’s “Thank You, Come Again,” on August 27. Also performing will be Magick Orchids, Eli and Mary Monolator, Seasons, Dnonkong, me (Geoff Geis), and hopefully you — if you bring an instrument. You can RSVP on Facebook.
