Even though I think oh so highly of Dillon Rego [ALASKAS] he constantly blows my mind in the presentation of creating vocal spaces. I love getting my bliss on while soaking in a live “Play Rough” environment, and this video shot by recent Cooper Union-grad Levi Mandel captures more than sounds but principles and personal ideals. Glue yourself. Additionally, James’ documented vocal recording shot for Sick of the Radio’s Practice Space series seems to fit so well together with “Play Rough” in working with capacities of voice [acknowledging the pre-recorded instrumental playing through this BC jam]. Not only am I a big fan of James’ drippy eye beats and knack for building epicly pitch-bent vocals, but he’s damn fine at creating a minimal dark comedy.
