The Do Lectures are an annual long-weekend conference held in Wales, on a farm gorgeously located between the Teifi Gorge and Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve. The festival promotes idealism of ambitious goals and the survival of fantastic, eclectic ideas through their intimate lectures, discussions and superb selection of enthusiasts. Attendees spend the weekend in furnished tents placed upon raised wooden decks, and the festival itself is limited to eighty participants and thirty speakers. If tickets weren’t $3,000 we’d be there every year, but the notion that these events happen under such phenomenal circumstances with such enlightening people… it’s a wonder that we don’t already rush our TED talks out into the streets and educate the wandering masses who should certainly appreciate a break from the self-inspired modes of commute or leisure. I really encourage taking a peek at the talks that have been archived online, they range from madman Steve Edge so eloquently explaining why humans should party every day to discussions on the gamification of everyday life and the differences between ego & ecosystems. The mind is for having ideas, not holding them.
The attached tune is a recent offering from our bud Kumon Plaza, it debuted on a collaborative mix from BEKO DSL and Crash Symbols that you can pick up over here. If you’re curious what the beyond luminous backing track from the video above is [as they haven't exactly given it credit anywhere i can find], it’s an instrumental portion of Alela Diane’s magnificent “Pieces of String“. Join me after the jump to watch Steve Glenn, founder of LivingHome, talk about how he is bringing sustainable homes to the masses.
