Ana Caravelle – Black Canyon (Shigeto’s As I Inhale Mix)

Our mad love for LA native Ana Caravelle is no big secret, we’ve been going to see her play since we were fifteen years old and she has soundtracked a fair share of fmly afternoons at the mansion including a darling Thank You Come Again and fmly’s first show ever. A timeless voice, spiritually enlightening gaze, unique acoustic instrumentation, stellar collaborations (coughmealsforchildrencough), and great sense of humor and taste – like when she covered that jam from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – have made us lifelong devotees, so here’s the news.

Ana Caravelle – Out of Road Rendered

It took more than enough time, but Ana is finally getting some long-awaited recognition for her forthcoming record, Basic Climb, due out on September 28 on Non-Projects and produced by Asura. Now what this means, which we’re all so giddy about, is that Ana’s resonance has struck a chord beyond acoustic into the realm of beat experimentation. Expect a steady flow of heady remixes to be coming shortly, but for now we’re offering you one from Shigeto (Ghostly International) that threads Ana’s voice through her harp strings and leaves the rest to physics. I’ve been quitely wishing for this for years, but Ana should really cover DNTEL’s “Anywhere Anyone” with Mia Doi Todd…you feelin’ that too? Alright. We’re excited.
