Watching this interview my mind went from Wikus Van De Merwe and deep-space aliens to body-jerking bewitchment to “ew, gross” to “wow. It looks really hot over there.”
Cape Town based trio Die Antwoord – which translates from Afrikaans to the answer – drop some serious “next level beats” and um, pretty intense rhymes that include psychic visions, raves, period blood, and naked babes galore. Check out their sweet web design here and the freaky-deaky diespace here.
There’s been rumors that Die Antwoord is a big fake-out, possibly meant to reap publicity for MaxNormal.TV, and it looks like its working. I’m not sure what’s going on here, but it’s either totally brain-numbing, fokken brilliant, or some brand spanking new combo of the two. We’ll see what happens with these dudes.
