I don’t need to tell you that things are beyond bad in Haiti right now. There is no telling how many people have died (the current toll is over 50,000 and climbing by the minute) and a lot more than that have had their lives destroyed. Being from the poorest nation in the western hemisphere, these people don’t have a chance unless we all come together to help. Think about if this happened where you live. It could have very easily been your family that died. Times are tough right now economically but everything counts. Think about giving up that latte or cigarettes for a while. All the luxuries that we take for granted could go towards stopping the spread of disease or getting basic living supplies to people who really need it. We are all in this together and it’s time we start acting like it.
