Busy P (Ft. Murs) – To Protect & Entertain (Crookers Remix)
The Streets – Blinded by the Lights
This past weekend saw the Bay at it’s best — and by best I mean it was like being cuddled up between two gigantic breasts and peacefully bounced to sleep, all the while looking up at this face that was far beyond any sort of physical beauty.

I went up to San Fran with apprehensive thoughts… I really didn’t care for that many of the acts at this years Treasure Island Music Festival, but I went anyways — all for the love of something different than a weekend in Isla Vista.

I didn’t get a photo pit pass, so all of these pictures are basically me screwing around, I even talked my way onto the ferris wheel without the 5$ price tag.
Three basic highlights for me were as followed:

Murs and his ‘Protect and Entertain’ Crookers remix at like 2pm, finishing and saying how it was entirely too early to take pills and everyone should wait until the sun went down.

Another highlight was the incredibly high (almost annoying) voice of Michael Angelakos and Passion Pit who I must admit have been a guilty pleasure of mine. That was pretty early in the day and I wasn’t drunk yet, so that could have contributed to my meh-status… I’m sure if they were in a club they’d be much better.

The real treat was Mike Skinner and the Streets. I love the guy. All he does is stand there and preach while his soul singer buddy belts out some boastful choruses. He speaks about how he feels, each song is a little piece of him, (he tried to talk this chick on some guys shoulders to show her tits to no avail… he seemed like he was enjoying the girls the most). All I can say is the breakdown he added to his closer, ‘Blinded by the Lights,’ was fucking epic.

And then there was Dan Deacon… Festival crowds arn’t his thing.

MSTRKRFT was next. House is House is House…

Left after 10 minutes of Girltalk to go try and catch Edward Sharpe and Dan Deacon at the Mezzanine… Got scared away when some random guy on the street asked if I wanted a blow job and headed back to Berkley. I’m sorry MGMT, saw you at Coachella ’08, wasn’t impressed.

I did enjoy the Bay but the two stage festival system needs some work, there was a two hour gap between Dan Deacon and MSTRKRFT that left me with nothing better to do than smoke entirely too much marijuana and tempt me to buy a 7$ beer… How do people afford these things?
Here’s an assortment of the arts:
John Howard from Monkey Ink draws some pretty interesting shit for bands all across this fair world of ours… here’s a couple:

I’m pretty sure this was the work of Robert Harris, can’t be certain though, correct me if I’m wrong.

And then the one’s where I have no contact information besides the fact that they were all part of the Pacific Art Collective…

And then the Jump Rope!~

Farewell
