There’s something a’brewin in California that has Seattle written all over it, which in a larger picture, has American independent music written all over it. With transplanted youth afloat and our unemployment rate not getting any better sounds have blatantly transcended place (time as well, but that’s a whole ‘nother story) and with such easy access to music sites and social networking institutions the culture and aura of a town can now be re-adapted to pretty much anywhere. This isn’t to say that local sounds have become any less genuine, in fact, I’m stating quite the opposite – a melting pot, we truly are. Sorry for the Yoda phrasing.

Mistlefinger hail from up north in California. Not Humboldt or Berkeley, but the UC Davis and Oakland region of things goin’ down. Rockin’ the digital drums, fly keyboard and lazy-daisy guitar this gal-and-dude-pal duo crank out some dope butterflies to set your belly into a flutter and make your favorite strand of hair stand on end, Alfalfa stlye. If Michael Cera is trying to get down on a Nick and Norah sequel I think we’ve found the tune for that heart-warming smooch scene.
