We are the sheep that flock to the Portland music scene, but who isn’t! A city that harbors such innovation and beauty within their pop tunes really should get as much props as possible. Just got this jingle in the ‘ol email from Alan Singley & Pants Machine and after reading Alan’s statement, “I was riding my bike in the rain looking for a job and through a fake French accent I just started singing the hook off the top of my head. Its a bike-love song, written in a gritty Portland basement, fueled by a forty,” this became a pretty need-to-hear track. Characterized by honest and slurred (must have been the 40z) vocals, catchy drum patterns and just a genuine feel for pop aesthetic I don’t see the harm in peeping the rest of the album. Make sure to check out the MySpace for more music! Feelin’ Citrus is out August 25.
