Hotboxing a dorm room somewhere between ‘i highly appreciate every stage of Animal Collective’ and ‘i just want to dance to my own tunes’ comes Jamaica Plain’s Truman Peyote; also home to Captured Tracks’ Kid Romance. Like an engine revving up, pushing the old exhaust out and waking up the surrounding environment the sounds of Caleb Johannes and Eric Farber are some straight up post-Y2K jams dressed in timeless memories. Such a sweet expression to stumble upon at this point in the summer when the pool has tipped over and your feet are wet with those rad experiences. I leave for a week to Concord and the surrounding Boston area tomorrow morning and knowing that Truman Peyote will be kicking it closeby is way rad – if you’re within driving boundaries I can’t begin to emphasize heading out to the ppalmm chinatown loft in Boston for a rager with EAR PWR, TP and Toro y Moi on August 6. It’ll be the first time I’ve hit up a show in Boston!
