As visible in the photo above, it looks as though Thom Yorke has finally given up. Honestly, I think it’s about time because I really don’t know how he was planning on topping In Rainbows. Perhaps I should be more specific… Thom is not giving up music, but rather – as you can see – signing his soul over to the Devil [and Daniel Johnston] for a sound that will top what we heard in 2007.
Radiohead have gone back into the studio to start work on the follow-up to their 2007 album In Rainbows.
“We just went in last week,” bassist Colin Greenwood said. “It was really good. It was really noisy and chaotic and really fun.”
But the group do not have fully formed songs yet, he said.
“We’re at the stage where we’ve got the big Lego box out and we’ve tipped it out on the floor and we’re looking at all the bits and thinking, what next?”
The new album, which will be their eighth, will again see producer Nigel Godrich work with the band. [via BBC]
If you remember last summer, then you may have that new Radiohead tune on your computer. If not, it’s an unformed melodic and gorgeous arrangement called “Super Collider.” Video after the jump, download below.

I also dunno how the hell they’re gonna top In Rainbows, but I’ll be waiting with bated breath.
Yay.
Here’s to hoping…
