In the case of Daniel Johnston, some things do last a long time. His influence upon music of the last couple of decades is undeniable, his cult following is equal to that of the Lakers, and his genuine spirit although evolved over time has not once been tainted of its authenticity. Here are a couple of tunes for you to enjoy that derive specifically from “Some Things Last A Long Time” and have been an influence upon your FMLY.

Our feelings for Beach House are well known and Victoria Legrand’s vocals in this piece envelop you in the warmest of blankets, kiss you on the forehead, and lay you on a bed of sand as to pleasure you with mild discomfort.

We haven’t talked about Noah23 in a minute, but this track is still one of my favorites. We spun it on Public Education Sunday evening and for those of you tuning in and feeling the Daniel Johnston sample, here ya go! If Noah23 is the future of hip-hop then I’d like to be around for at least another few hundred years. The lyricism of this track still grips me like the topside of a skateboard, mad props to the embedded Dan Johnston references that I’m still picking out.
and just to throw my favorite tune out there…
