fmly all-stars, vol. 1

With so much excitement over summer touring, festivals, and the dropping of fresh tunes it’s nice to take a few minutes to step back from that realm of things and take a look at what is going on within your FMLY. Today we’re going to sneak a peek at Ryan Riegner, an important member of our New York FMLY. Ryan is not only an active attendee of every FMLY outing, but also an artist of ours. Hand Ryan a hammer and he’ll return a week later with this generation’s answer to the Eiffel Tower, hand him a pen and he’ll forge any document by hand whether it be an American dollar bill or a Civil War-era deed to your home; you can begin to imagine why we keep him around.

The photo above was taken earlier today as Ryan unveiled his blow-up elephant in the lobby of Parsons School of Design. A crowd gathered to watch the monstrous plastic being inflate, and they stayed and multiplied to witness its life. Take a look at Ryan’s incredible website here, or join us after the jump for a preview of what you’ll find.

This is just the start to a series of FMLY all-star profiles. You’ve heard from many of your FRNDS – from Koalacaust and Anamanaguchi to [Post-foetus] and Ninjasonik – but it’s important to get a full scope of what’s going on visually, tangibly and everything else all over the place. To be profiled as a FMLY all-star just send an email whenevs to noah@thefmly.com with what you consider your voice to be! We’re up for poetry, short stories, video, painting, performances, etc…just keep it fresh!
