A Visually Appealing ‘09

2009 is shaping up to be a swell year for the entertainment industry. From Mike Tyson and Zach Galifianakis to Pauly Shore and Forest Whitaker, here are a few films that we’re excited to see along with some new music videos from Department of Eagles, Panda Bear and a new live video of Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks” featuring Victoria Legrand of Beach House.

Where The Wild Things Are. No explanation necessary as I’m sure we’re all equally excited for this film. If you haven’t yet seen the trailer keep your ear out for an alternate version of the Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up.” Watch in HD here.

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. Starring the voices of Anna Faris, Andy Samberg, Bill Hadar, Tracey Morgan and Mr. T I’m almost tempted to say this was children’s book gone movie was made for a different demographic than one would think.

Taking Woodstock. It’s a no-brainer, the film is about how Woodstock was set in motion. Directed by Ang Lee and starring Eugene Levy, Emile Hirsch and Paul Dano just to name a few, IMDB says, “a man working at his parents’ motel in the Catskills inadvertently sets in motion the generation-defining concert in the summer of 1969.” Paul Dano is also in Gigantic with heart throb Zooey Deschanel-Gibbard. Funny enough, I appear in a film called The Exploding Girl with Dano’s girlfriend, Zoe Kazan.

The Hangover. When Mike Tyson punches Zach Galifianakis in the face you don’t need a legit reason to go to the movies.

The Boat That Rocked. Philip Seymour Hoffman, international seas and music. We’re there!

Adopted. Pauly Shore is back, ’nuff said.

So many more, but considering there’s an Astroboy film coming out, is Megaman next? Also, Visioneers needs a theatrical release now.

“No One Does It Like You” is directed by Patrick Daughters who also has then reins on Grizzly Bear’s upcoming “Two Weeks” video.

Directed by Gang Gang Dance’s Brian Degraw, this “shit-res” video of “Take Pills” will easily get you trippin’.
