Premiere: Koalacaust “Indian Summer”

God-damn we had it made

When it comes to our Los Angeles pals I feel like a mother, I’m just so proud of the music that our FRNDS are making. Santa Cruz/S.F. transplants Koalacaust are no exception, having played with Mischief Brew, Paul Baribeau, and Andrew Jackson Jihad these young men are not only living the anti-folk dream but making some of the dankest tunes around. In March they’ll release their full-length and FMLY has a track to premiere to the world, “Indian Summer.”

I’ve always described Koalacaust as the combination of Blink-182 and Wolf Parade with an accordion; that sound is present on “Indian Summer” but I can’t vouch for the entire album. What I can vouch for, is that the entire album is going to be stunning and is way up there on our FMLY anticipation list. Expect more coverage as we near the release date. Koalacaust will be in Los Angeles mid-April to open our night at Out of Asia with Ninjasonik and Japanther, more bands to be announced. The ‘caust also played our FMLY Backyard Extravaganza in August. More tour dates, including the MOCA, on the Koalaspace. Video of Koalacaust playing “Resolutions” at The Smell after the jump.
