Headset On You

One last post before bed… Leeds quartet, Heads We Dance, just released a double remix single featuring Tepr and Frankmusik. I’ll post my favorite HWD dance song which is an insta-pop classic that’ll no doubt dominate your iTunes.

Ghostland Observes US Territory

Ghostland Observatory, one of the most amazing bands to come out of Austin – that I’m kind of bitter has become a national treasure because I loved keeping them my little secret – is heading out on tour to a city near you…if it’s a large one. I caught them at Webster Hall during CMJ week and fell even deeper in love, their stage performance is everything that you can ask for and more; lasers, dancing, capes, the whole shebang. You can purchase their third album Robotique Majestique (Trashy Moped) February 29.

02/29 Austin Music Hall-Austin, Texas
03/08 Langerado Fest-Everglades, Florida

03/29 9:30 Club-Washington, D.C.

Morning Benders

The Morning Benders are a Pop/Folk band from Berkley. They have recorded two EP’s by themselves and have finally recorded a studio album entitled “Talking Through Tin Cans” out May 6 2008. If you like 1960’s music with nice little key board parts you will like this.

Beck’s Information is wrong

Beck’s recent reissuing of Odelay Deluxe has incorrect lyrics in the first pressing. It turns out that they got Beck’s lyrics off of the internet. If you can get a hold of this first pressing for god sake HOLD ON TO IT. It’ll be worth a lot of money some day. Take care of it.

My Parisian Stride

So I was lucky enough to catch The Teenagers’ last night in New York – their first of four shows – and not knowing what to expect I could not have been happier. They opened the set with Starlett Johanson which came as no shock because I’m pretty sure that they have been playing the same set across the country which I am completely okay with. Their stage antics were cute as ever and made them one of the most lovable bands to see live, I only wish that Dorian spoke up more just because he’s been such an icon to American hipsters for the past few months. Anyways, I’m just giving a minute’s writing summary – it was a great set, go check them out at Coachella and don’t be afraid to speak to them if you see them because they really are some of the sweetest people you’ll meet in a band. Thanks Dorian and Jason for adding me to the guest list. Check back into this blog soon because I’ll be interviewing them later today and after editing and shit it’ll probably be up here as well as IHEARTCOMIX sometime next week.

Also, if you live in NY The Teenagers will be filming their video for Selflove on Sunday at a super secret location and need extras. If you’re interested, contact me and I’ll give you the info.
